"I'm fine, Doc, really! Roy sighed, hoping to convince Dr. Early of his well being, in spite of the raging headache he was now enduring.
"You know, I've come to expect this type of behavior from your partner," Joe mused, while watching Roy attempt to bat away the pen light, "but frankly Roy, I'm a little surprised to see it coming from you."
"Doc, really, I just have a little headache. It's no big deal." The paramedic squinted his eyes, flinching at the invasive light.
"Is that your professional opinion, Dr. DeSoto?" Joe chuckled.
"Hey Doc?" Roy asked, ignoring Dr. Early's quip. "How are Bellingham and the passengers of the other car?"
"I haven't heard anything, but as soon as we finish up here, I can find out for you," Joe offered kindly. "Now, be a good boy and follow the light."

"Woah! Did you get a look at that blonde over there?" a tall nurse asked, while handing a file across a desk to her co-worker.
"How could I NOT have?" the other nurse remarked with sarcasm. "He's been stomping and storming all over the ER. His partner is the guy you were just with, in treatment four." She leaned closer to the taller nurse. "Now as for his partner...I definately wouldn't mind checking his vitals!"
The two nurses stifled their giggles as the tall blonde man approached the desk, regarding them both with a stern gaze. "So? Is there any news yet? You know, I've been waiting for over an hour now! Who is in charge around here, anyway? I'd like to speak with someone in charge."
"Calm down, Mr. Hutchinson." The nurse behind the desk held up her hands, attempting to placate the angry man. "Your partner is going to be just fine. Just like I told you before."
"Calm down?" he shouted indignantly. "Listen! If you want me to calm down, then you'll quit giving me the run around and let me see him!"
"Mr. Hutchinson," the tall nurse said calmly, taking a hold of his hand. "I was just with him and he really is going to be fine."
"Really? Are you sure...ahh...Keri?" he asked, after glancing at her name tag. "When can I see him?"
"I can take you to see him right now," she offered, smiling sweetly.
"I'd really appreciate that, Keri," he said, the relief was obvious in his voice and his demeanor suddenly changed. "I guess I've been a little worried," he admitted, giving her a charming smile.
"That's certainly understandable." Keri batted her eyelashes, linking her arm through his and began leading him toward the treatment room.
"You know, Denise over there wouldn't help me out at all," he commented, glaring at the nurse behind the desk.
Keri nodded sympathetically before casting a triumphant glance back at Denise, who simply rolled her eyes and went back to her paperwork.
"He's really going to be okay?"
"He'll be admitted for a few days," explained Keri. "He has a probable concussion and some broken ribs." She laughed a little before continuing. "The doctor was pretty worried at first."
"Worried?" he asked, his voice raising an octive. "What do you mean...worried? Worried about what?"
"Well...at first the doctor thought that the irrational behavior your partner was displaying was being caused by a more serious head injury, but now...well, it seems that he just has an unusual attachment to his car."

"Mr. Gage, I'm sorry but your son doesn't want any visitors." the nurse explained as gently as she could.
"That's just crazy!" Jack thundered. "I'm going to see my son and you can't stop me!"
"Calm down, Mr. Gage. All I can tell you is that after Mrs. DeSoto visited earlier, Johnny told me that he doesn't want any visitors. He specifically mentioned you, as well as his partner."
