"Multiple Personality Disorder?" Roy asked in disbelief. "Now I've heard everything. What you did to Johnny...leading him on like that...taking advantage of his blindness...is...reprehensible!"
"Roy, listen," Johnny started to speak, but was silenced by a firm hand from Jack on his shoulder.
"It is pretty low, Brice," Marco interjected. He had followed Roy and Jack into the room.
"It's true, DeSoto," CB smiled thinly. "The Brice you know and...despise, used to be a nice, normal kid. He loved to play baseball, street hockey, just be a normal kid. But one day, Craig was walking home from school when one of his neighbors pulled over in his car and offered him a ride home. He took it." CB shook his head. "He thought it'd be okay, since Mr. Basonet was a very nice man, well liked by everybody in the neighborhood." His voice trailed off. "But it wasn't. Mr. Basonet made a little...detour to a vacant lot a few miles away. He had his fun, and the little Craig we knew and loved changed forever. Craig became Brice, the perfect child. The rest of us were swept under the rug until he was about 13. There's me, CB, the "fun kind of guy." Then there's Craig, the logical, thinking sort of guy. Chuck, well, we haven't quite figured out him yet. He the sportier sort. There's the Brice, whom you've met, and then there's Thom." CB fell silent.
"Thom?" Roy asked, his jaw hanging open. "Who's Thom?"
"Pray you never find out," replied CB. "Pray you never find out." CB shook his head and started to turn his wheelchair around. "I'd better be going. I've taken up enough of your time."
"How do we know this is true, and not just some story you've concocted?" asked Marco.
"Look at me," replied CB. "I can hear every word you say. Brice can't." CB looked between the men in the room. His face paled, and fear became evident on his face. "You've got to help me, DeSoto, Lopez...Gage," Brice made his way to the forefront. "I have to get them under control or there will be hell to pay. If Thom gets out again..."
"What happened the first time?" asked Johnny.
