    Part 63

"Oh, Marco," Sharon cooed as she cuddled up against the sleepy firefighter, "you were wonderful." She lightly ran her fingers across his chest and abdomen.

Marco uttered a low moan, then peeled open an eye. "Wha?" he asked groggily, as pleasurable tingling in his loins, combined with a throbbing in his head. He squinted at the woman. "Huh? Sharon?!" He sat up in alarm. "What are you doing here?! Marco looked around his bedroom in alarm. "Where's Mike?"

Sharon put her arms around Marco. "Mike isn't here. He doesn't know I'm here. He doesn't care, either. He kicked me out last night. I walked all over and ended up at the Glass Onion. You rescued me from that jerk at the bar." She sighed deeply and nibbled on his ear. "You're sooo gallant. We danced all night, then came back here. It was magic."

Marco narrowed his eyebrows. "Mike kicked you out?" He looked at Sharon suspiciously. "Why don't I remember any of this?"

"You...had a little too much to drink," Sharon murmured. "It doesn't matter, though. You were such a gentleman back there. You saved my life." She pushed Marco down on the bed, kissing him passionately.

"Craig Brice has a twin brother?" Johnny asked in amazement. "Funny, he never mentioned it."

"Yep!" CB popped a wheelie at Johnny's bedside. "He's such a stiff. Craig disowned the rest of us several years ago. I think he felt he was too good for us regular folks. Come on, why don't you get your robe on, and we can go down to the cafeteria or something?" He smiled at the dietary aide who brought in Johnny's dinner tray. "The food's a little better than this slop."

"Oh. Does he know you're here?" Johnny lifted the cover from the plate and sniffed. He wrinkled his nose at the aroma, and put the cover back.

"He knows," sighed CB. "He refused to see me. I heard about your accident from your partner, and thought I'd come down and say hi, maybe cheer you up."

"You saw Roy?" asked Johnny.

"Yes," answered CB. "I met him in the elevator. He mistook me for my brother, and we had a nice chat."

"Well," Johnny considered the invitation for a moment. "I'd like to join you, but the problem is, I can't see. Somebody's been pushing me everywhere. If you're a paraplegic like your brother, you won't be able to push two wheelchairs."

"Don't worry about it," CB said cheerfully. "I'll give directions, and you can push me. Do you feel strong enough to walk?"

"Sure." Johnny shrugged, then smiled as he threw his covers back. "Let's go."
