Mitzi (a.k.a. Dixie) whistled softly as she quickly changed from her uniform. I suppose I should go check on Dixie, she thought with a brief twinge of guilt. After all, she is my twin and it wouldn't do for her to lose that precious baby and ruin all my plans, she thought with a wicked smile. If I can't have Kel.neither can you, Dixie dear. I knew Kel would catch on too quickly that something wasn't right with you, or should I say me, she laughed gleefully, besides it's so much more fun to torment him, thinking that I'm pregnant with someone else's baby. Plus it's so much fun toying with Hank. Imagine him thinking you are in love with him. How pitiful, she thought smugly studying her reflection in the mirror.
She swaggered to the kitchen and grabbed a sandwich and soda from the refrigerator, before heading back to the closet. She pushed the door open and entered, smirking and saying "Oh sister dear, I'm back." That was the last thing she remembered before slumping to the floor, unconscious, as a chair connected with the side of her head.

Kel threw his jacket down on the couch, before heading over to the bar and grabbing the decanter of scotch and a glass. Man, what a day, maybe it's time to think about moving on to something else or somewhere else, he thought with a weary slump to his shoulders as he lay back on the couch, pondering everything that went on that day or, for that matter, for the last couple of weeks.
The shrill ring of the phone caused him to jump, muttering, "Damn it, I thought I told everyone not to bother me tonite."
"Dr. Brackett," he growled in the phone, using the tone he relied on to intimidate student nurses and wayward paramedics.
"K.K.Kel.help me," Dixie sobbed into the phone.

Brice stretched as he stood up at the back of the classroom before slowly approaching the woman cleaning off the chalkboard at the front of the room. She looked up with an expectant smile, which quickly turned into a slight frown as she recognized Brice as the man that had thrown a slipper at her.
Brice blushed furiously, stumbling over his words, "I... umm... uh... just wanted to say that I am sorry.about the other day I mean," he said looking down.
Becky smiled softly at what she assumed was Brice's attempt at an apology, having only caught the first part of it. She reached down for her notebook, writing, "If you are apologizing, then I accept, but you need to look at me so that I can read your lips." She smiled, showing Brice the notebook and reminding him of what he had just been taught in the class only minutes before.
He grinned shyly at her, "You're right, I'm sorry, I know.I guess I'm still getting used to this," he said as a look of sadness crossed his face.
"That's okay," she mouthed the words slowly for him as she also signed them. "If you want, we can go across the street to the coffee shop and talk," she offered with a smile.
Brice looked at her, lost in his thoughts at the beauty of her smile and the grace of her hands as they fluidly signed her words. His smile brightened and for the first time in a long time he thought, Maybe things aren't going to turn out so bad after all, as he gallantly offered his arm to Becky and ushered her out of the room.
