"What are you doing?" Alica screamed as she struggled to get away from Roy, "Get your hands off of me! You have no right to . . ."
"Lady, I've got every right." Roy's blue eyes blazed as he tightened his grip on her arm, "After everything you've done to my partner I ought to . . ."
"Done to your partner?" Alica scoffed, "I haven't done anything to Johnny. He loves me. He wants to be with me. You're the one he's afraid of."
"Didn't do anything to him?" Roy's jaw dropped open as he regarded Alica, "Are you completely insane? You nearly killed him."
"Roy," Brackett's voice cut through Roy's anger, "we don't have time for this. Turn her over to security and get me a crash cart. NOW!"

Hank Stanley stepped out of his office and looked around the empty bay, "Stoker? Lopez?" He took a few more steps, "KELLY?"
"Right here, Cap." Chet Kelly appeared, as if from thin air, at Cap's elbow.
"JEEZ, KELLY!" Hank jumped back, "Warn a guy before you do that, will ya?"
"Sorry, Cap." Chet shrugged sheepishly, "Did you want me?"
"Yeah. Yeah. Sorry, pal, I guess the quiet in here is just a little unnerving." Hank cleared his throat, "Where are Stoker and Lopez?"
"Stoker took the rest of the afternoon off. Marco said he had something important to take care of at City Hall this afternoon." Chet nodded toward the day room, "Their replacements just got here."
"Replacements?" Hank rubbed his hands together, "Let's go see who they are"

Mike stepped out into the bright California sunshine, his hand wrapped around Sharon's, "Well, this is it. I hope your as excited about this as I am, Sharon."
"Oh, Mike," Sharon smiled up into his eyes, Mikey perched merrily on her hip, "this is the happiest day of my life. Finally we're going to be able to give our son the family he deserves."
"And make sure he gets the help he needs." Mike caressed his son soft cheek as he gazed into Mikey's trusting blue eyes.
"CONGRATULATIONS!"
Mike and Sharon found themselves caught in a down pouring of rice as a flashbulb went off.
"Marco?" Mike blinked away the bright flashes of light that clouded his vision, "What are you doing here?"
"Hey, you didn't think that I was just going to stand back while our little Mikey get married and do nothing, did you?" a wide grin split Marco's face, "And who do we have here?" He wiggled his fingers in front of Mikey's face, delighting in the musical laughter that flowed from the child.

"Hello, Joanne."
Joanne looked up with a start to see her mother-in-law step through the door, "Harriet? What are you doing here?"
"I just stopped in to see how my favorite daughter-in-law is doing." Harriet pasted an obviously false smile on her face as she made her way toward the bed, "And how are you doing, my dear? Feeling better after your little accident?
The cold steel in Harriet's voice startled Joanne. Surely she couldn't mean what tone had implied. It had been an accident, that was all. Joanne was simply being paranoid, that's all. Wasn't she? There was no reason to believe that Harriet would try something like that. Especially with her own grandchildren in the house.
"Joanne?"
"Oh, sorry," Joanne struggled to swallow past the lump in her throat, "what did you say?"
"How are you feeling, dear?" Harriet gazed at her intently.
"Fine, just fine." Joanne smiled through her fear, "The doctors expect to release both Christopher and I in the morning."
"That's wonderful, dear." Harriet reached out and patted Joanne's hand lightly, "I'm so glad to here it."
"Thank you, mother DeSoto."
"You know, in the future, it might be safer if you didn't have that Gage boy around." Harriet tsked lightly, "Bad things seem to happen all the time in his presence. I really think it would be a good idea if you cut all contact with him. Don't you?" She stared at Joanne pointedly.
