Marco began putting two and two together. "Sharon, Mikey, and City Hall." He continued to polish the nozzle while he figured this out. "I guess...no, not Mike...well, maybe...after all, they did spend a lot of time together, and obviously did more than they let on." He tiptoed away from the kitchen door and over to the engine to stow the nozzle.
"I'll know for sure this weekend when I see my cousin. Rafael is a clerk at city hall. I'll grill him for the information." Marco smiled as he picked up a rag and polished the chrome bumper of theWard-LaFrance, humming "Here Comes the Bride" as he worked.

On the drive to Rampart, Hank was going over in his mind ways to tell Dixie about the vasectomy."Hi, Dix. How ya doing? Oh, by the way, I had a vasectomy."
Nah. That won't work.
"Hey, Dix. Remember that romantic interlude? Well, the gun was drawn,but there were no bullets."
That might work. I know there is no way on God's green earth I am thefather of that kid, but it's a lot of fun pretending. I can't wait to see the look on her face!
